Vine of Hope Ministries
After two years of establishing a relationship with Isabirye "Isa" Taliki, I was sponsored by the Crestwood Foundation to journey across the globe to Uganda to meet him and the 18 kids he supports in Africa in August 2022.
Now proudly announcing that the first three trimesters of their homeschooling have been fully funded!!!
Thanks to Mind, Body, Spirit via the Victoria Clark Trust the first trimester is in play. Myself, Angie Thurston, and another anonymous donor has purchased the supplies, including desks, a chalk board, writing utensils, and educational workbooks.
The second trimester has been contributed by Ms. Michelle Klemesch.
The third trimester of their first year is pledged, thanks to Mr. Bill Choquette.
We are currently raising funds for:
- Second year / 3 trimesters (2024-2025) - Hiring teachers to homeschool the kids until we raise funds to send them to public schools
- A new piece of property for the building to call their own as a house, school, gardens, and animals. As of April 2024, we have raised 75% of the cost of the land!
- Monthly expenses of $500. We have a fabulous donor base and are continuing to welcome more!
We are excited to let you know that our application to establish ourselves as a 501c3 organization has been granted!!!

About Vine of Hope Ministries
ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND
In Isa's words...
The vine of hope is a home of children who have been abandoned, abused and more often left behind as a result of the death of their parents.
The vine of hope ministry started in 2018 under the guidance of Isabirye Taliki ( Isa) in Kamuli District, due to the high number of orphans and kids suffering, Isa decided to lift a helping to hand for the orphans and poor children to give them hope and love, getting them off of streets and give them shelter, food, protection, basic needs, and education. Our total number now is 18 children and due to the space that’s what we can take in for a moment as we wait for enough space. The ministry faces a big challenge of space for the children.
The Vine of Hope ministry knows what it means for the children to lose their families and live on streets most especially here in Uganda, spending each day searching for something to eat and a place where to rest. For this increased number of orphans sleeping on an empty stomach, poor children whose parents can't afford school fees, or even the very basic needs, the Vine of Hope is ready to provide some help for a better tomorrow.
Our is providing the following:
- Love
- Hope
- Shelter
- Food
- Education
- Basic needs
- Spiritual Values
On-going ideas we are fostering and raising funds for:
- Help with Education, horticulture, and animal husbandry
- New Building as home, school, volunteer quarters/rental for income
- Eventual self-sustainability
- Passports to visit and learn in USA
Since 2020, we have:
- Supported their monthly needs for food basics
- Bought each of the children two sets of new clothes and shoes
- Equipped the house with a water tanker
- Sent them goodie boxes for the holiday season, filled with hand written letters
- Gifted them art supplies, books, toys, sporting goods, mattresses, netting, and hygiene products
